Acoustic Rock artist Angie Miller is an accomplished
singer/songwriter who you may have seen performing her original music at
local clubs, coffeehouses, festivals, and colleges throughout the
mid-Atlantic region. Her debut CD, Ricochet, was released by
Big Mo Records in 1996, featuring a cameo appearance by guitar legend
Danny Gatton. Since then, she has produced two more independent releases
and appeared on several compilation CDs. White Space (2001)
is an all-acoustic recording with sparse arrangements and introspective
lyrics. Her latest release, Play (2003) is a live
recording featuring the full band that showcases her strengths as a
songwriter with smart lyrics, beautiful melodies and strong pop hooks. She
is currently working on a new studio recording, due out in the fall of 2005.
Following in the footsteps of Americana songwriters such as Joni Mitchell
and James Taylor, Angie mixes a smart pop style into modern
folk rock tunes and introspective ballads that hook the listener into
the story being told in each song. Whether it is the dreamy call of
the siren in "Swim to Me," the swampy, sweaty novella of "What's Wrong with
Your Mind," or the uplifting, practical exuberance of "Here We Are,"
Angie's songs and performances cut straight to the heart and comfortably
slide up next to your own experiences and memories like a good conversation.
Mike Joyce of The WashingtonPost says Miller has an "appealingly
husky country rock voice" that makes a "strong impression" while
Gretchen Gaines of Waazzup? Magazine describes her music as "both playful and
thoughtful, [mixing] folk ballads and sultry standards, and alternative acoustic
pop."
Angie has appeared in concert with international
artists such as Richie Havens, Nils Lofgren, Aimee Mann, Jerry Jeff
Walker, David Wilcox and Marcia Ball. You can hear her music on
WRNR 103.1 FM, Annapolis, MD, WTMD 89.7 FM, Towson, MD, WKOC

Press:
"There is something about Miller's slightly husky voice that is inviting,
even irresistible. She sings like a seasoned siren, stirring up a spicy
gumbo of songs." Mathew Thomas Pugh, Bay Weekly
"Angie has that creeping-toward adult
contemporary, later-era Cowboy Junkies sound, tempered with either a touch of
Carly Simon or a snifter of Bonnie Raitt."
Splendid e-zine
"Miller, who has an appealingly husky
country rock voice,...make[s] a strong impression."
Mike Joyce, Washington Post
"Her music, which is both playful and

Mark Bounds, Music Monthly
"Nothing can replace experience and talent when it
comes to knowing how to capture an audience,"
